Atlético de Madrid wins La Liga title after dramatic final day

The race for the La Liga title went down to the final day of the season, with Atlético de Madrid ultimately emerging victorious.

Atlético defeated Real Valladolid 2-1 on Sunday, while Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Villarreal. The results meant that Atlético finished the season with 86 points, two ahead of Real Madrid.
