Willy Adames' Hot Batting Streak

A Historic Start for Willy Adames

Willy Adames has made history in his first three Major League Baseball games with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He became the first player to record six doubles in his first three games. Adames also became the first rookie to record six doubles in any three-game stretch.

On Friday night, Adames clinched a 40-40 season by hitting a walk-off grand slam against the Milwaukee Brewers. This made him the first player in MLB history to record 40 doubles and 40 stolen bases in a single season.

Pirates Add Veteran to Infield

The Pirates added a veteran to their young infield on Friday, signing first baseman Carlos Santana to a one-year deal.

Santana, 36, is a four-time All-Star and has played for six different teams over his 13-year career.

Tellez's Home Run Cuts Deficit

Rowdy Tellez hit a two-run home run to right field in the second inning, cutting the Pirates' deficit to 4-2 against the Chicago Cubs.

This was Tellez's fourth home run of the season.

Tellez's Team History

Tellez has played for three teams in his career: the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was traded to the Pirates in a four-player deal in November 2022.
